Unicode, Farsi
The standard character encoding is Unicode, UTF8, allowing for an incredible number of special characters, as used by many languages. Other character encodings are of course allowed, as long as the use of it is properly advertised by the web site, e.g., in the DOCTYPE declaration. Examples are latin-1, an ISO standard for western-european languages, or Windows-1252 designed by Microsoft. But some browsers may not be able to utilize all character encoding standards.
Interesting test: can you read this? "Internationalization" written with accents: Iñtërnâtiônàlizætiøn.
This is a more difficult test, as your browser needs arabic/farsi fonts, and you might need to increase the text size in your browser, the word Farsi:
فارسی
